Betain reduktaza (EC 1.21.4.4, acetil-fosfat trimetilamin:tioredoksin disulfid oksidoreduktaza (formira N,N,N-trimetilglicin)) je enzim sa sistematskim imenom acetil-fosfat trimetilamin:tioredoksin disulfid oksidoreduktaza (formira betain).[1][2] Ovaj enzim katalizuje sledeću hemijsku reakciju
- acetil fosfat + trimetilamin + tioredoksin disulfid + H2O betain + fosfat + tioredoksin
Reakcija se odvija u smeru redukcije betaina. Enzim iz Eubakterija kiselinaaminophilum sadrži podjedinice A, B i C. Podjedinica B sadrži selenocistein i piruvoilnu grupu, i odgovorna je za vezivanje sarkozina i otpuštanje metilamina.
